Mohammad Iliyas Safi is a self-taught Product Design Manager with over 12 years of experience in designing digital experiences. He is passionate about creating delightful human-centric experiences while incorporating stakeholder requirements. Currently, he oversees Consumer Design at Purplle, India's #1 Beauty Destination Platform, which is used by millions across India. Mohammad is a problem solver who uses his design skills and business knowledge to not only make digital products look pretty but also make them work. He has experience in building and mentoring diverse design teams from scratch and enjoys working hands-on across cross-functional teams. Apart from his work, Mohammad enjoys taking pictures, reading mediums, editing videos, drawing abstracts, cooking new recipes, sleeping on the couch, and dreaming about traveling. In his previous role as Lead - UX Design at Purplle, Mohammad focused on KPIs and team goals, user experience, and the journey of the most important segments. He collaborated with the product team to get insight and convey expected output to the UI/Design team, web, and mobile developers. He also conducted design and UX workshops to get user needs and design solutions. Mohammad was rewarded for his design innovation. Before Purplle, Mohammad worked as a UI Designer at Aranca, where he was responsible for interaction, usability, information architecture, and visual design for all of Aranca's organizational management tools, websites, and other application-related initiatives. He established the entire user interface and developed the Aranca website. He won the Best Team Award across the company in 2012. Mohammad holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Sikkim Manipal University. His tech stack includes product design, UI/UX, Android, iOS, web, frontend, and research. With 14.37 years of relevant experience, Mohammad is a seasoned professional who is passionate about creating delightful digital experiences.
